MUIRFIELD eNEWS: March, 28 2020

1.Sewer Project In Muirfield; 2.Census; 3.Election By Mail

1 Muirfield Sewers: The City of Dublin asks that I send this to you all, aimed at those of our residents, who, like my wife an I, had just received a letter about a project about to come to our street with cautions about water use and closing toilet lids:

In case you received notification about Sanitary Sewer lining beginning next week, please be advised that the City is postponing the project indefinitely due to the evolving COVID-19 situation. (Public Works infrastructure projects are exempt under the State’s Stay at Home order, but the City has discretion and decided this particular project should be delayed for the time being). While there is no estimation on when the project will begin, you can find project information here - https://dublinohiousa.gov/engineering/2020-sanitary-sewer-lining-project/

2. Census: Please fill out the 2020 U.S. Census form - it’s easy and it determines how much federal money Ohio receives from the fed gov’and how many Members of the House we can have in Congress representing Ohions. I did our form in 10 minutes or less, very easy and straightforward. You will have received snail mail on how to do this, giving you an access code, Use that, or just go here and walk your way through it: https://2020census.gov/en.html

3. Election: If you already voted by mail ["absentee" ballot] or in person during early voting at your County Board of Elections, no problem. Those votes will be tallied. But if you had been looking forward to voting in person at your regular polling site on March 17th, you know that the in-person part of the primary election was cancelled at the last minute, followed by squabbling and court filings between various State government officials. So now final decisions have been made, and it is time to vote, today, while you are thinking about it. All voting that has not yet occurred is to be done by mail. There is no going to your polling site to finish off this election. Here is how to proceed:

-Request an absentee ballot, by printing off a request form, one for each voter in the household. If you live in Franklin County click here: https://vote.franklincountyohio.gov/ If you live in the Delaware part of Muirfield, click here: https://boardofelections.co.delaware.oh.us/
-Each of you needs to very carefully read the instructions and complete the forms, then mail them in to the County Board of Elections. Be sure to fill in the date of this election, which now is April 28, 2020.and to checkmark that you want a ballot for the PRIMARY Election. Make sure you sign and date the request, and have filled in all the blanks. You will be asked if you want a ballot to vote as a Republican, or Democrat, or just on the issues. You must pick a choice.
-Once you get the ballot in the mail, please do a quick turnaround, so it doesn't miss the deadlines. Keep in mind, you may become ill and no feel the energy to vote, so do it all now, while you have the mentation and energy.
