The 2016 Muirfield Fishing Derby is going to be a great time to meet your neighbors and enjoy the early evening at the Holbrook Recreation Complex.
Bring your picnic basket, fishing pole and lawn chairs. Watch the fishing fun, play games, listen to music from our own DJ and have an ice cream treat from the Sock Hop Soda Shop food truck.
Who Should Attend: Everyone who wants to enjoy our great community! Bring the kids; the grand kids, empty nesters and singles too! There will be fishing, games and prizes!
ADVANCE REGISTRATION HAS A REWARD! Those who register to attend (fishing not required) before August 15th will receive a free ice cream treat from the Sock Hop Soda Shop food truck.
Volunteers are still needed. We need a few friendly folks to monitor the fishing derby and games, help with registration and hand out prizes. We don't want anyone to be on duty more than an hour so they too can enjoy the event. The Country Club at Muirfield Village Concerns; Muirfield Amenities
Muirfield Association is passing on the following message from The Country Club at Muirfield Village:
Muirfield Village Residents,
This season, The Country Club at Muirfield Village has experienced a significant increase in misuse of the Club’s property. Many local neighbors, whose homes border the holes on the golf course, have taken advantage of the Club’s private property by biking and walking (including walking dogs) on the cart paths, stealing and/or moving some of the Club’s property, utilizing the golf course (without a required membership) and playing baseball and other sports on the fairways.
The Club is concerned about the activity primarily from a safety standpoint (i.e. someone being hit with a golf ball or being injured while riding bicycles and playing sports on the property).
A second concern comes with the physical damage that is taking place to the golf course and other Club property. Such damage unnecessarily adds to the Club’s expenses (to replace or repair the property) and devalues the Club and its amenities.
The Country Club at Muirfield Village would like to, once again, ask residents to take this request seriously and understand the potential safety hazards and legal ramifications that could arise from trespassing on the Club’s private property.
We thank you in advance for your cooperation,
The Country Club at Muirfield Village
The Association would like to remind residents that both golf courses are private property. We ask homeowners to please remind their children and guests to stay off the golf courses. Instead, why not take advantage of Muirfield's amenities?
Both the Holbrook Recreation Complex (off Muirfield Drive) and Glick Road Complex have a pool, playground, basketball court, lighted tennis courts, parking areas, and access to Muirfield paths.
Muirfield has over 29 miles of paved pathways. We invite residents to walk, bike, run, walk dogs, rollerblade, skateboard or jog! Motorized vehicles are not permitted with the exception of medical devices. There are maps here.
The field next to the Holbrook playground is open for use! Residents are welcome to bring sports equipment.
The Glick pool will close for the season at 9 p.m.on August 16.
Starting August 17, hours for the Holbrook pool (off Muirfield Drive) will be:Monday-Friday: 5:00 p.m – 9:00 p.m.
Weekends including Labor Day: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
The Holbrook pool will close for the season at 9 p.m. on Labor Day.
