MUIRFIELD eNEWS: JULY 8, 2016

In this issue:

Alert! Glick Road Daytime Closures Week of July 11

Muirfield Association is pleased to pass on the following information from the City of Dublin:

Glick Road is expected to be closed between Abbotsford Drive and Muirfield Drive on Monday, July 11; Tuesday, July 12; and Wednesday July 13, 2016 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Drivers may use Avery Road to Brand Road to Muirfield Drive as a detour. The schedule is subject to change.

Work began July 5, 2016 on the recreation path between Davington Drive and Muirfield Drive on the south side of Glick Road. The new path will replace the existing Muirfield Association path, widening it from six to eight feet and improving the overall quality of the path.

The path will be closed during construction. The golf cart/pedestrian tunnels under Glick Road will also be closed during most of the construction period. The west tunnel near Davington Drive will be closed for approximately 30 days toward the end of the construction period. The east tunnel near Muirfield Drive will be closed for the duration of the project. When the tunnels are closed, path users and golfers will need to cross Glick Road at the temporary Glick Road crosswalks available during the project.

There is an existing Muirfield Association recreation path available along the north side of Glick Road that may be used as an alternative path route.

This project has been planned for many years and will improve the quality and accessibility of the path. The design was shared with residents during a public meeting on May 4, 2016.

The path is scheduled to be complete by September 30, 2016.

Updates on this project will be available at http://dublinohiousa.gov/construction-updates/glick-road-recreation-path-project/

Please contact Lindsay Weisenauer, Senior Public Information Officer, at 614.410.4504 or [email protected] with any questions.

Vandalism Alert

Over the past several days, the Association office has received reports of vandalism in the Din Eidyn area. Residents have found fireworks on their driveway and smoke bombs on their doorsteps or near their homes. In some cases, vandals have rung doorbells and made other noise outside before placing the smoke bombs. This activity seems to be occurring around 11 p.m.

Since fireworks and smoke bombs are fire hazards, please use extreme caution if these are found on your property, even if they appear to be detonated. The National Council on Fireworks Safety recommends to dispose of spent fireworks by wetting them down and place in a metal trash can away from any building or combustible materials until the next day.

The Association has contacted Dublin Police, who indicated they would increase patrolling in the area. However, the police urge residents to report this activity either by calling 911 for emergencies or by calling 614-889-1112 for non-emergency situations, such as finding evidence of vandalism the following day.
