I-270/Route 33 News
As most residents are aware, there is a
great deal of construction happening at
the Route 33 and I-270 interchange.
Please be aware that speed limits on the
Dublin sections of both Rt. 33 and I-270
have been decreased until 2017. Route 33
has become 45 mph and I-270 has become 55 mph.
An excellent resource is the website
Keep advised of construction timelines, lane and ramp closures, and more.
While the major traffic impacts won't start until June,
some evening, overnight and weekend lane closures have
already started taking place.
the office received a call from a resident who was injured after
being hit by a cyclist traveling at great speed on one of our paths.
The resident subsequently required surgery for his injury.
Our paths are shared use paths, and in an effort to prevent any future injuries:
Our paths are used by many people: runners, walkers, children,
pets, cyclists, and rollerbladers. There may be strollers, wheelchairs,
or persons using other mobility aids present.
Use common courtesy and be on the alert for other users.
Please announce yourself if passing someone who may not be
aware of your presence.
Paths are not designed to be speed circuits. Slower
walkers and children may not have time to respond quickly
enough to a speeding cyclist.
This could cause a collision that may injury both parties.
Clarification of Responsibilities
It has come to the Association's attention that there is
confusion regarding who is responsible for taking care of
certain aspects of our community. The following should
aid in clarifying responsibilities.
City of Dublin Responsibilities:
Street lights along Muirfield Drive. Other street lights are owned by AEP. The Association does not own any street lights.
Muirfield Drive median, ruts, trees, and landscaping
Fountain and surrounding landscaping at Glick and Muirfield Drive
Streets and snow plowing (with the exception of the gated areas)
Bike lanes / bike lane area restoration. Residents may wish to know that restoration of grass along the Muirfield Drive bike lane project will completed by the end of April. This includes repair of the damaged area along the median strip. The finish on the bike path bridges near Brand Rd. should be completed by the second week in May. All of these dates are weather permitting.
Muirfield Association Responsibilities:
Muirfield perimeter fence
Muirfield Drive median mowing
Mowing of Association common ground
Trees located on common ground
Ponds owned by the Association (some ponds are owned by golf clubs or abutting property owners)
Wi-Fi service at both pools
Mailbox painting and number replacement
Tennis and pool facilities
Mowing property that abuts city right-of-way
Landscaping that abuts pathways
Mailbox installation and repair (Association provides service at owner’s request for a fee)
Trees located on private property
Wi-Fi, internet access, cable and other electronic communication services
